Congratulations to RVPC Members participating in the Copper Meadow's Sun Series on 1/10/21. Zoe and Scout competed in their first full phase event! Savannah and Stella executed on their first "all clear" on the XC course.... Leilani on Sunny and Maya on Cassie earned overall 4th and 3rd place in the Intro division, with dressage scores in the mid/upper 60s.

As cases of equine influenza are surging in Southern California, Oregon and Washington State and horse owners are being urged to keep their animals safe, here i...s some useful information on the disease. Equine influenza is a highly contagious respiratory condition, and is one of the most common infectious diseases of the respiratory tract of horses. Influenza is endemic in the equine population of the United States, which means it's always around. Equine fu spreads rapidly through groups of horses in aerosolized droplets dispersed by coughing, and the severity of clinical signs depends on the degree of existing immunity within the affected individual, among other factors. Any horse showing signs of respiratory disease (cough, nasal discharge, persistent fever) should be isolated immediately until the cause can be determined by your veterinarian. Please note that, while humans cannot contract the disease, they can carry the infection and transmit the virus between horses. Contact your horse doctor for more information on how to prevent this disease through an appropriate vaccination protocol and biosecurity practices. Nice work! This past week was a busy one for RVPC as they continued working on their land conservation project with Nancy Zadrony, Janet Sowell and the International Equestrian Center in Ramona, CA. Temperature taking of the composting piles, documenting the weather and spreading the composed manure to the shrubs and catchment areas and above all, working together to give back to the land. Talented enough to be an Acircuit hunter jumper pony. 9 years old. Canadian bred and branded. Her favorite kid for the last 3 years has sadly outgrown her and has moved up to a bigger horse. She needs a new partner to make her own. She has also been used for some Pony Club lessons and ...in a small riding program with some smaller kids, but prefers a soft knowledgeable seat and hand. Has shown at Copper Meadows in Intro division 3 day, and has schooled some Beginner novice cross country jumps. Does great out on cross country, but her fancy jump, look and style make her best suited in the hunter/jumper rings. Has great flying changes both ways. She is a forward Pony when asked. Not lazy, or dull, so not for a beginner. Has an amazing trot and would win the hacks! Has basic dressage training and has scored well in the beginner novice dressage tests. She loves going out on the trail and is good alone or in a group. Loves water and will go right through it no problem. She has amazing feet and has always been barefoot. Is ridden in a rubber mouth or plain snaffle. Super sounds and will pass a vet check with flying colors. Low 5 figures and lease options available to right situation. Christina Ranes to USPC SO CAL REGION Discussions 2 mins Attention So Cal pony clubbers!!! We would like to invite you to the Pony Club Kahoot Olympics!... Who: All pony clubbers are invited! When: Every Monday 3 pm Where: Kahoot.it How: at 3:00 I will post a game pin here on the region Facebook page. We will probably get to play 3-4 games. For each game, I will post a new game pin for players to enter the kahoot game. There are prizes for high point scorers. The high point person from the combination of all games will receive a region pin mailed to them. You may play one or all of the kahoot games during our approximately 40 minute game time. All kahoot quiz’s will be horse knowledge based, on many different topics. In order to be considered for high point awards, players must enter their first name followed by their club or riding center. You don’t need to include PC or PCRC to the club or centers name. The club or center that has the highest number participating each month will earn a pizza party that is sponsored by the region. That’s a pizza party to earn in April and one in May - it can be redeemed when we are all able to meet again.
