Pupping season has started! There have been quite a few sightings already here locally :) Harbor seals give birth from April to June. After birth, a mother seal will leave their pup alone on the beach for extended periods of time while she goes to hunt. Please do not approach the baby seals or touch them. On our beach cleanup today we picked up about 1,100 nails from the remnants of just one fire! Even though it is permitted to burn on #madriverbeach PLEASE do not burn pallets. They’re full of nails that quickly turn rusty and are treated with chemicals that shouldn’t be burned anyway. When you can, always burn non treated firewood, or at the very least, remove the nails from your pallets #beachcleanup #hsuoceanclub #savethebeach
