HBJJ is here!!! In 2016, Sean Flanery moved with his family to Texas and established a new HBJJ Headquarters just outside of Houston, where he grew up. During this new chapter in his life, HBJJ , now Houston Brazilian Jiu Jitsu became his central focus, as Hollywood BJJ became an independently operated facility. Houston BJJ has always been a life project where SPF could put all his knowledge and experience on the mats, starting with his own kids, and now offering classes for ...adults who share the same passion for martial arts and its values. Hollywood BJJ founded in 2004, was a result of a passion of Sean Patrick Flanery and his friends, where he could fulfill his love for martial arts. Over 3,000 students, friends and families share the mats with us for the last 16 years. What a wonderful journey! As per Nov 2020, Hollywood BJJ temporally suspend its activities. And, in the Summer of 2021, Hollywood BJJ will reopen in a brand new, state of the art location, to continue its rich history in the Los Angeles area. A big thanks is owed to all our students, instructors, staff, and the entire Jiu jitsu community for the support and love throughout these years. Today we’d like to introduce you to Francisco Sousa, mostly known in jiu-jitsu as Netao. I was born and raised in Copacabana, Rio De Janeiro. Got my black belt under Grand Master Osvaldo Alves, a ninth degree red belt, and director of IBJJF. In 2007 I got my first Tourist Visa just so I could come and compete the first World Championship in the United States in Long Beach, California. In 2010 I was invited to teach in one of the jiu-jitsu gyms in Cleveland, Ohio; where I w...orked for 1 year. Later in 2012, when I was already back in Brazil, I was approved to work with jiu-jitsu in the United Arab Emirates for the company Palms Sports. Which I lived there for nearly 7 years. In Abu Dhabi, I had the opportunity to work at the Military Forces and in the Public Schools, where jiu-jitsu is mandatory in ALL Public schools, where I had the opportunity to make a lot of champions. And for doing a great job in the schools, I was invited to work in a soccer club of Sheikh Diab Bin Mohamed, which he created a Jiu-Jitsu team there, where I was the head coach and had the privilege to travel around the world with them. In 2017, I brought my team from Abu Dhabi to compete at the Grand Slam in Los Angeles, where I met Rodrigo Antunes’s gym. Hollywood BJJ. I trained my team from Abu Dhabi there for one week. I moved to Los Angeles where Today I’m a the business owner of Hollywood BJJ, where I teach jiu-jitsu classes for kids and adults@hollywoodbjj. Come on down and be part of a great new family.
