Following a series of Prolotherapy treatments at Healing Hands Osteopathic Medical Clinic, this gentleman returned to our office this past week and spontaneously shared from his heart how well it worked for him.

Dr Hyman's perspective that the current medical approach to preventing heart disease with aggressive use of statins to lower cholesterol may not be the best approach. First, the link between cholesterol levels and heart disease may not be as direct or simplistic as once postulated. Second, the fact that cholesterol is required by the body for many important functions, as cited by Dr. Hyman, suggests that lowering cholesterol may actually do more harm than good.
