#warriorwednesday coming from CTRCS Wesley Travis! Wesley hails from Fairbanks Alaska and joined the Navy out of Seattle Washington 22 years ago. He started playing hockey with his friends back in Fairbanks then started organized hockey later in Seattle. In 1995 he started playing for Western Washington University until he enlisted in the Navy. He is currently working as a trainer and assessor for 3rd and 7th fleet ships in information warfare. He has been playing for the Guardians since summer of 2020, and wanted to be part of an organization that truly knows how to use hockey to help people like family, as the Guardians represent what a hockey family should be always there for one another. Wesley currently plays on the D4 team and coaches one of the Guardian teams.

This #WarriorWednesday coming straight out of the motor pool. Mike Willingmyre is a native of Gurnee, Illinois and joined the Marine Corps in December 2004 as a Motor Transport Operator after graduating from the College of Lake County with a degree in Criminal Justice. He is currently the Motor Transport Operations Chief for I MEF Support Battalion on Camp Pendleton and ...absolutely love serving in the Marine Corps. He says he loves the commrodorie and team work that all the Guardians display and their involvement in the community. He can be found almost every Saturday volunteering with fellow Guardians at the kids learn to play program at San Diego Ice Arena where he helps develop the next generation of hockey players, to include two of his own kids. Some say under his beard...is another fist. This weeks #warriorwednesday is Sgt. Russell Allan from West Covina CA. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2012 after working for two years as an EMT in downtown LA. While in the Maines he worked as a C-130J Power Line mechanic and was stationed with VMGR-152 in both Okinawa and Iwakuni, Japan. After a six month vacation to Kuwait in support of Operation Inherent Resolve he ended his enlistment with VMGR-352 at MCAS Miramar. After... receiving his DD214 he has been working a seasonal Wildland Firefighter with the U.S. Forest service. He is also one of the founding members of the Guardians. When he and @chrislane (an officer) started the organization they knew they would need someone enlisted to get the program up and running. Sgt Allan started playing roller hockey in his back yard as a kid but never played on the ice untill 2017 he is now an accomplished skater and teammate for all. See more

WARRIOR WEDNESDAY!!! Richard Ferrick was born and raised in Escondido California, United States Army OEF 12/13 Comms, combat veteran 2-7 Cavalry Garryowen . Grew up and fell in love with the sport of hockey at 7 years old playing blades of steel on NES. Watching the LA Kings, Gretzky and McSworley were my two favorite players. Played for the Lil Kings at a young age for a few seasons and played street hockey growing up. Hockey has always been one of my favorite sports, fro...m the speed and skill to the blood and glory my favorite movie is The Miracle. I play ice hockey for the Guardians for the love of the sport and the brotherhood there no better place than hometown hockey. The Guardians to me is more than a team it’s a band of brothers from all walks of life joined together enjoying our passion and the sport of Ice Hockey. I play center and wing and have played for many teams and seasons but nothing compares to this team. #Army #ArmyStrong #Hockey #IceHockey #SanDiego #Escondido #California #SoCal #Awesome See more
