Gonorrhea Eradication Team and Integration Taskforce 08.06.2021

So, for those who don't know, the revamped version of this project seeks to make a bacteriophage producing bacterial strain capable of making a yogurt that can be consumed for the treatment of oral gonorrhea. We have learned how to make yogurt and begin making our garage lab today! When the DIY lab space is made, we will build our incubator (programmed with arduino) and acquire media for the isolation of bacterial strains from our homemade yogurt (original strains from store bought yogurt). If we can knock out a crucial gene for the conversion of milk to yogurt (lactate dehydrogenase?) and use that as the selection marker on a plasmid, we may be able to create an Ldh+ plasmid that codes for a gonorrhea lysing synthetic phage and is expressed in our yogurt-producing bacterial strain. But first, the lab.

So here's the deal. Gonorrhea inhibits your Th1 cell response (the response needed to kill virus infected cells) when you are infected, making you more susceptible to HIV.
