The Winter Storm Warning goes into effect at 3am Saturday Morning. A cold, low-pressure system will move into Southern California on Saturday, with another cold and windy system to follow for Sunday. Heavy snow is expected to accumulate in the higher mountains over the two day period, along with strong and gusty winds from Saturday morning through Sunday evening. HEAVY snow is expected. Plan on difficult travel conditions. Tree branches could fall as well. SNOW FORECAST Up to 6 inches below 6000 feet. 6-12 inches 6000 to 7000 feet. 12-18 inches 7000 to 8000 feet. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. FLASH FLOOD WATCH The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Saturday morning through Saturday Evening. An early season Winter Storm will bring rain and snow showers to Southern California this weekend. Some of the showers may be locally heavy, resulting in a potential for debris flows in and below recent burn areas. BURN AREAS INCLUDE THE EL DORADO AND APPLE FIRE BURN SCARS. Flash Flood Watch for a small portion of southwest California, including the following areas, San Bernardino County Mountains, San Bernardino and Riverside County Valleys-The Inland Empire and San Gorgonio Pass Near Banning. Locally heavy rain rates of 0.4 inch/hour could result in debris flows in and below the burn scars.
