Garden Grove Fire Department 14.11.2020

The Garden Grove Fire Department began its public outreach through social media in 2011 with the intent of providing public safety insight and engaging with our community. It was managed by Captain Nguyen with large support from our fire fighters and partners outside the department. While we had the opportunity to share with you all what went on with your fire department, we also received great feedback from many of you. It was this two-way communication that made our relatio...nship with our residents that much better. As you may be aware, the Orange County Fire Authority will begin providing fire department services for Garden Grove tomorrow, August 16, 2019 at 8:00 a.m. To follow what's happening with the OCFA, follow them on Facebook and Instagram @orangecountyfireauthority and Twitter @ocfa_pio. The Garden Grove Fire Department PulsePoint account will no longer be active. To see incidents occurring in Garden Grove, follow OCFA Division 1 on PulsePoint. For the purposes of archiving, our @gardengrovefire accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter will be live, however there will be no postings after the transition takes effect. It has been a pleasure serving you all, and while this transition is bittersweet as we look back at our history, we also look forward to the partnership with the City and the Orange County Fire Authority.

Officers and paramedics from the police & fire departments responded to a reported drowning incident involving a small child recently. A family member forgot to activate the door alarm that lead to the pool & went upstairs. The child got out, and was found in the water by his mom. Fortunately, he was conscious & breathing. The patient was treated by firefighter paramedics and transported to the hospital. This incident underscores the importance of safety measures that must be in place and adhered to by everyone. It’s super hot out, and many of you are heading for the water. All of us at the fire department, Garden Grove Police Department, & Garden Grove City Hall would like to remind you the following: Don’t swim alone Always designate a responsible person free of distractions to watch the water... Flotation devices are not a replacement for watching your kids
