FIRE AND ICE: The opposites that make the world go round mesh together in quite a peaceful way here. While hot and cold are known for not mixing and staying to their respective places, they created a beautiful composition here through their color ways. This abstract piece is inspired by the sunsets seen on the Carmel coast and their shift into fall. Part of our current exhibition: HALF - LIGHT... Half-Light: Noun; light that is about half its customary brightness, or that is partially dimmed or obscured. Galleria Ramo D’oro is pleased to present Half- Light. In this colorful series of works by Juan C. Mancheno, the natural beauty of our surrounding area is highlighted by the exquisite rising and setting of the sun and moon that take place each and every day. The images are informed by the ever-changing atmospheric elements that the central coast experiences such as smoke, fire, fog and dew. In this exhibit, Mancheno is inspired by the warmth of the vast westward views amidst the ecological shifts in local climate. The Big Sur area continues to provide new discovery through the complexities of it’s environmental constitutionbreathtaking perspectives of the Pacific Ocean and the native habitats of untouched flora and fauna. This series intends to bring forth the feeling of a new beginning for the viewer; driving home a sense of joy as the sun’s light defines and shapes the beauty of our coastline as nature runs its course.

Into the weekend. ___ Photo by @keonephotos for #Lr_Conceptual I took this photo a few weeks ago and loved the RAW, but wasn’t sure how to bring the image to life. I must have made 3-5 edits of this photo in Lightroom, but none of them really felt right or left me feeling like I had created something worth looking at twice. I’ve been inspired lately by a multitude of things from friendships, to artists, to victories, to losses, to seasons of life, and this is how I was ab...le to express all these things through my favorite process of photography - editing/color grading. In my mind, I envisioned something loud, yet simple. I wanted to maintain the photos minimalistic properties yet throw my own colorful spin on it - and this is what I came up with.
