The Eaglets have landed! Yes, two new healthy hatched eaglets at Lake Hemet Campground, and Friends of the Desert Mountains could not be prouder! Thank you to Southern California Edison (SCE) for funding this study, the babies are banded and ready to rock.

Milkweed in the Monument! Help us protect the Monarch butterfly by identifying and mapping milkweeds in the Santa Rosa & San Jacinto Mountains National Monument. Monarch butterfly populations are declining - they cannot survive without milkweed as their caterpillars feed exclusively on these plants. Our goal is to record the status of this special pollinator's habitat and document the density and diversity of milkweed species within the Monument.
