Arts & Culture Thursdays Some art supplies don’t have to be purchased from a store but can be found in your own backyard or neighborhood! Pick a dandelion fro...m the grassy park, gather fallen leaves from a tree, find a feather or slim twigthese objects can all be used to make a nature collage. Items you will need: - Nature objects such as leaves , plants , flowers , rocks, or pebbles - Yarn or other accessories - Paper - Glue Instructions: 1. Collect your assortment of nature objects and sort them by type and shape. 2. Think of what type of collage you want to make. Put glue on a piece of paper and then place your nature object on top of the glue. 3. Add additional materials such as yarn to your collage. 4. Let your collage dry flat before picking it up or pieces will fall off. This will take a while. Take a picture of your collage and tag us on social media using @LACountyLibrary! We'd love to see your creations!

Yesterday afternoon, Lancaster Station came into possession of an American Flag. The flag was crumpled up in a ball and left on a cardboard box. The beautiful f...lag has seen better days, but deserves more than being left in a crumpled heap. We brought the flag to the station and Sergeant Weathers and Deputy Ruiz folded the flag properly. We will retire the flag with honor. If you have an old, tattered flag and don't know how to properly retire it, please bring in to our station. Please ask for Ali Villalobos or Deputy Deciga, and we will happily take care of your flag and ensure it receives the proper retirement. We are all in this together Antelope Valley. #LASD #AV411 #oldglory
