Thank you to all of those who donated to the CowTech Facebook fundraiser!
Silicon Valley Regional was fantastic! We finished Qualification matches ranked 14 out of 59. We played two awesome Quarterfinal matches with our alliance partners Team 2367: Lancer Robotics and Cupertino Robotics Team 2473: Goldstrikers. To top it all off, we received the Judges' Award for our innovative bi-axial foam-fiber robot design!
Yesterday, the students took over the process that Mr. Hunt created for making bearing seats and machined over 77 bearing seat blanks in one meeting!
Today, one of our mentors spent all day working on making the bearing seats reusable by creating a process to make them with a flange that can be used to push out the bearing. After working on it for 12 hours straight, he has a setup that allows us to put a flange on a bearing seat in under 30 seconds! Background: We're building the robot using bi-axial foam-fiber composites to create monocoque stressed-skin structures. One of the few things that we need to make with a differ...ent material are metal inserts to support the bearings for our wheels. Before today, those metal inserts (bearing seats) have basically been a disposable item that we can only use once because we had no way of separating the bearing from its seat once we put the two together. This was unfortunate because they actually take quite a bit of work to make. Creating bearing seats with flanges will save us manufacturing time and make our parts reusable. See more
Today some of our team members learned how to solder!
How well do you know the Game Manual? Test yourself using this Kahoot we made. https://play.kahoot.it/
The programmers have been hard at work making different drive algorithms. Any team member that's interested can try them out and give feedback.
Thank you to FRC Team 668: the Apes of Wrath and for graciously giving us a control system! We really appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at First Robotics Competition - Silicon Valley Regional
It's Kickoff!! We are udderly excited to start Build Season. Time for some Graze-ious Professionalism and Cow-opertition.
It's alive! We've got our practice robot running! Now it's up to programming to start testing out drive algorithms.
We finished assembling our chassis! Next step: Mounting an electronics board so programming can make it move.
We got motors spinning!
