FACT OR FICTION: I will still need to wear a mask after I get the vaccine. FACT: Yes, you will still need to wear a mask in public. The vaccine is not 100% effective! While experts learn more about the protection that COVID-19 vaccines provide under real-life conditions, it will be important for everyone to continue using all the tools available to us to help stop this pandemic, like: ... Covering your mouth and nose with a mask Washing hands often Not gathering in large groups Social distancing Community Medical Centers #FactORFiction #wearamask #WashYourHandsOften #socialdistancing2021 #ourbestshot
FACT OR FICTION: We don’t know the long-term side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine. FACTish: It’s true, we don’t specifically have long term data on the COVID-19 vaccine. However, there have been clinical trials with other mRNA vaccines dating back to 2009. The first human trial of mRNA vaccine was in a small group of patients who had prostate cancer. Overall, that mRNA vaccine was well tolerated and has a good safety profile. ... In 2013 a clinical trial began of an mRNA rabies vaccine in healthy human adults. This rabies trial was important because the safety requirements for a vaccine in a healthy population are more stringent than those for a vaccine treating a disease. The study ran from 2013-2016 and continues to collect long-term safety data. But overall, this vaccine was deemed generally safe and tolerable. Good morning everyone! The last few days have been nothing short of amazing! Frankie Quintana is now up and about walking and talking. He still gets winded easy..., and he still needs help doing things, but still is making progress in the right direction. He’s much happier these days as he can feel his strength coming back. We are continuing to physical therapy, as the time spent in bed has made him weak. I feel if Frankie hadn’t received the Covid convalescent Plasma I don’t know where he would be. It is still very important to make this a top priority. If you know of someone who has recovered from this virus please talk to them about donating. It could just save a life of a person or child. Please feel free to share #covid19sucks #DonatePlasmaNow #ThePowerOfPrayer #ilovehimsomuch #myboy #centralcaliforniabloodcenter #myfighter

Courtney (left) and Jasmine (right) are registered nurses in the emergency department at Community Regional Medical Center. This is the new reality of healthcare workers and the frontline faces of COVID. They are testing patients and working with physicians and other healthcare staff ensuring patients are cared for and safe. Courtney was born and raised in Clovis where attended Clovis East Highschool and Fresno State University. For as long as she can remember she knew she w...anted to be a nurse. When asked about working she said "I am beyond privileged and proud to be working alongside the best nurses, doctors, PAs, and healthcare staff at CRMC who have been fighting this fight together. I look forward to the day things will be back to normal, but until then I take one day at a time and make sure I make a difference in someone’s life. It’s rewarding to me when I see our patients recover. Donate Today https://bit.ly/3dJ6TAH The demand for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) has created severe shortage worldwide. Darcy-Niccole is a respiratory therapist at Saint Agnes Medical and works on the front lines caring for patients with COVID-19. Darcy was born and raised in the Central Valley and has been a respiratory therapist for 8 years. When asked what motives her during this time she said I am very passionate about my job at Saint Agnes, they have one of the best respiratory departments in the country. We have great leadership and mentors, and when things seem unbearable my colleagues... are always there for me, offering help so nobody feels like they are going through this alone."
