ONCE ON A EAST COAST KOREAN TOUR BUS, I WON A KEREOKEE CONTEST I haven't won anything since because I can't carry a tune. At the time, I was 10 and pretty adorable when i almost swallowed the microphone in my naivete. "Edelweiss" was my song. A German folk song being apropos. And, the prize was a bottle of brown alcohol (because. Koreans.) that my relatives told me I couldn't drink being short. On this day of DAZE, I dedicate a rock ballad from the Korean Michael Bolton, ... ("Jae Bum Yim") and the song, ("For You"). The song is meh but that break and that chorus DELIVERS. From the designer denim enclaves of Brentwood to the bespoke suiting game in Beverly Hills, I thought I'd seen it all during my years in Film and Fashion. Cake walks and pony shows compared to what I've seen at the helm of a mobile kitchen working in food. From fellow business owners who tell on you, to promoters who tell you a 100 people will be at the event but really it's more like 2 dozen, to mom's of promoters who ask you to reduce your menu prices to fit their son's pro...fit margin, my mind gets blown ever so often. On the other hand, at least an old girl can still get surprised. It's all about those SILVER LININGS.
