Thank you Shasta-Cascade Girl Scouts for donating all of those cookies to our volunteers. We are very sorry to hear that things will be postponed for you this year, but please stop by the fire department next year because we we would like to pay back your generosity buy buying a ton of boxes of cookies from you girls. That’s our promise! Thank you.

We would like to give a big thank you to Shasta Lake Fire Station 42 for donating an entire library of training materials to our department. This type of material is quite costly and we are very appreciative. Also, thank you to Chief Keady in Burney for picking it up for us.

Thank you for your concerns regarding the flag issue. After speaking to members and directors of the department, and the overwhelming support from the community we have made a unanimous decision to keep flying the flag. We don’t believe it disrespects anyone, nor is it outside of legal standards. We will keep it flying.

It has come to our attention that a few people have expressed that they are offended by the flag that is flown below the United States flag at the fire department. The flag in question is a fire and police memorial flag that has the thin red/blue line. This flag has no political affiliation, however, some people have expressed that they believe it represents something other than its meaning. It was never our intention to offend anyone. The flag was within legal compliance for the requirements of flying a flag. This fire department has members that are veterans and retired law enforcement officers, and we chose to fly this flag to show support of those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. We have chosen to remove the flag as to not continue to cause a stir.
