Student Opportunity Alert: Students can join this free conference on expanding their horizons through looking at college and career options. The conference takes place October 24th from 9:30-12:30.

Upcoming Opportunity: There is a new College Board Initiative called Real Talk. Real Talk is a virtual college exploration series designed to connect Black students and families with Black admissions representatives from universities across the country. This will be a three-part series that features HBCU’s, IVY’s, and Maryland area institutions. The inaugural event, Real Talk: HBCU Edition will take place on Thursday, October 8th at 4pm PT/7pm ET. All are welcome grade leve...ls and academic achievement levels are welcome . Although this event will cater to students, they also encourage parents, educators and community members to participate. Admissions representatives from eight HBCU’s across the country will share pertinent information about the admissions process and campus life. They will answer questions in real time during the Q&A portion of the event. Content creator, producer and Howard alumna, Freddie Ransome, will kick-off the evening discussing the importance of college planning in this moment and her experience attending an HBCU. This is a great way for students and families to engage with university representatives. Hybrid Aerospace Valley Air Show: SAVE THE DATE: On Oct. 9-10, 2020, Edwards Air Force Base will host its Aerospace Valley Hybrid Air Show over the High Desert. The event will feature flyovers of F-16 Falcons, F-22 Raptors, F-25 Lightning IIs and F/A Hornets, in addition to several bombers. Friday's route will pass over Lancaster, Palmdale, Rosamond, Mojave, Tehachapi, Bakersfield, California City and Boron.... On Saturday, Oct. 10 aircraft will fly over Lancaster, Palmdale, Hesperia, Apple Valley, Victorville, Barstow, Fort Irwin, Ridgecrest, NAS China Lake and Rosamond.
