Being a dentist is no easy job. But certain product innovations can make dentistry much easier. . My dental practice is my first baby. I've poured my heart and soul into making it beautiful and creating the best dental experience possible. At the end of the day, I would often have back pain from leaning over and trying to see into patient's mouths. . When COVID-19 hit and we were forced to shut down, I was devastated. But, I took the 3 months of closure as an opportunity to... develop a product that would make dentistry easier. This year, my husband and I founded Light Solutions Dental (@lightsolutionsdental). We provide wireless lights to dentists that attach to practically any glasses to increase visibility in the mouth. We've had amazing feedback from the dental community. . This morning, I got the opportunity to be interviewed by Dr. Paul Goodman (@drpaulgoodman) of Dental Nachos (@dentalnachos). Dr. Goodman is the founder of a great group that helps dentists increase happiness by decreasing annoyance. . With all the PPE that dentists need to wear, Light Solutions Dental has created an innovative product that helps dentistry easier. . I'm so grateful for everything. Thanks @drpaulgoodman for taking the time to chat with me this morning, and thanks @dryazdan for the wonderful introduction. See more

Photos like this are what make me love what I do! . This patient came in February 2020 wanting to close the spaces between his teeth. He was missing his two laterals (tooth #7 & #10). His canines (tooth #6 & #11) had shifted into the position of the laterals. . We realigned his smile with ClearCorrect Clear Aligners and closed the gaps. After a thorough cleaning with our dental hygienist, we closed the triangular gaps and reshaped his canines to look like laterals with som...e chairside resin veneers. We recontoured the surrounding teeth to give that a smile a nice pop of evenness, removing any sharp edges. . All I can say is WOW! The timing can't be more perfect as he is getting married next Saturday! We are incredibly excited for him and his fiancé! . . . . Thinking about a smile change? Building smiles is what I do! Hey there! It's Monday, and I'm going to conquer the week by: . Organizing my office Cleaning out my garage and donating any items not used in the last 6 months Eat healthy and keep my sweet tooth in check... Exercise with my kids every day Develop new relationships and grow old ones. . Life is a continual journey, and I need to get back on track. A clean space helps me think clearly and improves my efficiency. . I've been watching @thehomeedit lately with Clea and Joanna, and I'm totally obsessed! I wish they served San Diego because I'd hire them in a heartbeat! If you haven't gotten a chance to watch them on Netflix, I would highly recommend it. It is truly an inspiring and motivating show produced by @reesewitherspoon. That show just makes you want to be a better person and live life organized. . . . . Thinking about a smile change? She's back! And you can see her brother behind super excited that she's home. . Ava went in for her final check at the doctor's office yesterday afternoon. Her antibiotics have been working, and she is already looking way better. She's finally interested in playing and eating, and we are absolutely thrilled to be home. . My 4 year old, Jax thought we had abandoned him at our friend's house. He said, "Mommy... I thought you weren't coming back to pick me up." It broke my heart..., but we assured him that we would never leave him behind. . Thank you for all your thoughts, prayers and kind messages. We feel super blessed to have such amazing family and friends who reached out to us. You guys are all truly amazing! See more

I'm writing this with tears flooding through my eyes. As a mother, I've always wanted to keep my children safe and healthy. My sweet Ava rarely complains. She is always happy, bubbly and caring. She came down with a fever Tuesday afternoon, and despite Tylenol and Motrin, her fever was not coming down. On Thursday, I rushed her to the ER with a fever of 105.4F. Ice was thrown on her to try to get her fever down as soon as possible, and tests were run. They started antibiotic...s for a UTI, and I thought she would be better. On Saturday morning, things still did not look right. I took her in once more, and they admitted her into the pediatrics unit and did more testing. It turns out she has a bladder and kidney infection. We are waiting for more tests to come back to see if there is anything else going on as there are other things in her blood levels that seem more elevated than they should be. We will be staying in the hospital for the next few days to try to get her better. . It has been so hard to see my baby girl get so many blood draws, catheters placed, IVs and taking so much medication to manage her fevers and chills. I want to look strong in front of her and keep letting her know things are going to be okay. I secretly cry in the corner when she's asleep, wishing it was me who was bearing the pain for her instead. . Please keep little Ava in your thoughts and prayers. We truly appreciate it. See more

Age happens! Teeth wear happens! Life happens! . I'm catching up on posting all the wonderful smile transformations I've completed in the last month. I absolutely love this one where we crowned his four upper front teeth. I removed the underlying infections that contributed to the breakage and wear of his teeth, and afterwards, I prepared and cemented these beautiful porcelain crowns. . This smile looks absolutely natural. I'm happy with how it turned out. He's looking great ...for the sunny weekend! . . . . Thinking about a smile change? Building smiles is what I do! Why is it important to get a professional dental cleaning? . Your smile will be brighter! A cleaning can remove most stains that dull and discolor your teeth. Cleaning your teeth can prevent gum disease and early tooth loss Your oral health is a window into your overall health and well-being. There are strong links between your teeth and gums with cardiovascular disease and many other diseases.... . I LOVE my dental hygienist, May! Happy Labor Day! I'm spending this holiday with my kids and just enjoying quality time with them. . This little gal is my Mini Me! We took a little road trip this Labor Day weekend to visit Redlands, California. We stopped by our favorite ice cream place @alaminute and found this cute little alleyway behind the ice cream shop. It was a scorching 118F there! My little girl got rosy red cheeks due to the heat. Thank goodness for delicious ice cream to cool her down. . It wa...s a wild day. We headed up to Oak Glen to visit @appleannies_oakglen and pick up their Mile High Apple Pie. We had every intention to pick apples in the orchard, but quickly headed down the mountain due to the mandatory evacuation because of the El Dorado Fire. . California fires are brutal this year. It was crazy to see the fires so close. Praying for the firefighters as they try to contain this fire! . What are you doing this Labor Day weekend? . . . . Thinking about a smile change? Getting things done! Sometimes, I just need that day to catch up on everything. Life has been just a series of whirlwind events that have thrown me off guard. But, I'm embracing every moment with a smile! . So today, I'm sitting down and working in my office... trying to get more administrative things done. It's not easy being a mom, a dentist and a small business owner @lightsolutionsdental. But, I totally got it, and I'm making it work. . If you asked me 10 years ago where ...I thought I would be... I would never have guessed that I would be both a practice owner and running Light Solutions Dental, selling lights and loupes to other dental professionals. I always saw myself as a small town girl with a regular 8-5 job, but my life took me through another path uncharted and unexpected. . I'm grateful for the time I have today to just catch up and be prepared for the rest of this week. What are your Tuesday plans? . . . . Thinking about a smile change? Building smiles is what I do! If you could make a 20-second phone call to yourself at any point in your life past, present or future, when would you call and what would you say? . I would call my teenage self, the geeky girl with all the pimples... Be Confident! Be Bold! Love yourself, take up challenges and don't be afraid to take risks even if you may end up looking silly. . I've always played it on the safe side. I graduated college top of my class, excelled in dental school and got a job right out of ...dental school in beautiful San Diego. I was super career driven and was going to just make it to the top no matter what. I walked a path that was difficult, but also achievable. It was a path written and walked by many. . I am taking a big leap of faith on things and just going for it without fear of failure. . 2020 has been a wild year and it continues to be. I am living up to its challenges with a smile on my face, and will continue to put myself outside of my comfort zone to do big things in life. . Life is all about having fun and taking a journey.
