Today, we are incredibly sad but also extremely grateful for an amazing program that touched the lives of so many people. After 7 months of providing almost 80 seniors daily meals, the County of Riverside sponsored Great Plates Program has come to an end. I'm sad because we've reached the worst stage of this pandemic and I'm sure this is the time that our clients need us the most but I'm told by the County that there are other options and we've shared that information. Pers...onally, I am extremely grateful because we had the opportunity to keep many of our staff employed during the past 7 difficult months. The following is just one note of gratitude from a client. I cried. #grateful #winwin "Willie, I wanted to thank you for providing 3 generously sized meals on a daily basis for nearly the past 7 months through the Great Plates Program. It may have literally been a life saver for this 79 year old man. I especially want to thank Hugo C and his brother Jose who delivered the food each day. Their energetic and positive greetings each morning were greatly appreciated. They were great and always asked how I was doing. I will miss them. I am doing well and am looking forward to the time when I can join friends for a Happy Hour and dinner in person at 849. Thank you again for providing this great service during this Pandemic."
