Dry River Brewing

We can't speak highly enough of the Over Our Heads collab w/ @angelcitybeer! This is sort of a wine-beer hybrid: We brewed the base beer with spelt & buckwheat, then fermented with Saison yeast and aged the batch on Syrah grape pomace. Pomace is the skins, stems and seeds of the wine grape after the winery presses out the juice. Aging our ‘finished beer’ on pomace allows us in impart wine-like character and tannins while still maintaining a lower abv and dry characteristic of our sour beers. The result is vinous and spritzy with bright fruit aromas and rich tannins. It clocks in at just 5.6% and pours a nice bright red color.

It's hard to say "happy" New Year (admittedly, this photo was from last year!) but we are hopeful for the future.
