I can't stop crying. Courtney Thomas posted this. It’s gone viral. And when you read what she wrote and look closely at the picture you’re understand why.... Here’s the rest of her post: If anyone thought there was no hope in our kids and teens you're wrong. The SOLE purpose of us putting this sign in our yard today was so kids wouldn't run to our door and be disappointed (our neighborhood usually gets 300-400 kids). I looked on our doorbell camera tonight and saw that kids had been stopping at the sign. We then went outside and found this The picture doesn't do it justice, it's a LOT (of candy). Seriously... If the parents of anyone who did this sees this, PLEASE tell them how much it means to us and our kiddos. On the best candy night of the year kids freely and generously shared with strangers and showed so much love and kindness. So amazing Childhood cancer is something we wish no family ever had to endure, but there is so much love, hope, and support! If anyone feels led to support financially, these are 2 amazing groups we know of and are so thankful for: https://curechildhoodcancer.org/ways-to-give/ https://rallyfoundation.org/ -Courtney Thomas I hate cancer. I wish cancer would get cancer and die!

I don't know when I've ever seen so many people rally to take care of another human being. This is going to be one of the best stories you’ll read all day. It...’s how a young girl and others helped a blind and deaf man during a flight on Alaska Airlines. Lynette Scribner posted this: "I saw this gentleman, Tim, in Boston's Logan airport with the sister he'd been visiting. It appeared he was both deaf and blind, as I observed her signing into his hand for him to feel her words. When he came aboard the plane he had been assigned the middle seat of my row. He was traveling alone. The flight attendants sincerely wanted to assist him, but had no way to communicate. I watched as they didn't flinch when he reached out to touch their faces and arms. They took his hand and tried so hard to communicate with him, to no avail. He had some verbal ability, but clearly could not understand them. The flight attendants were talking among themselves and someone suggested paging to see if anyone on board knew sign language. That's when this lovely young woman came into the picture. 15 years old, she learned ASL because she had dyslexia and it was the easiest foreign language for her to learn. For the rest of the flight she attended to Tim and made sure his needs were met. It was fascinating to watch as she signed one letter at a time into his hand. He was able to 'read' her signing and they carried on an animated conversation. When he asked her if she was pretty, she blushed and laughed as the seat mate, who had learned a few signs, communicated an enthusiastic yes to Tim. I don't know when I've ever seen so many people rally to take care of another human being. All of us in the immediate rows were laughing and smiling and enjoying his obvious delight in having someone to talk to. Huge kudos to the flight attendants of Alaska Airlines who went above and beyond to meet Tim's needs. I can't say enough about this beautiful young woman named Clara who didn't think twice about helping her fellow passenger. It was a beautiful reminder, in this time of too much awfulness, that there are still good, good people who are willing to look out for each other. #alaskaairlines" -Lynette Scribner I don't know when this story actually happened. But honestly I don’t care. Its the FACT that it happened that’s important to me. #StayKind #GoOutAndMakeADifferenceToday

Jordanna Howard sent me this story last night. I just happened to glance at it during a break in our newscast. I instantly teared up to the point where the dire...ctor said in my ear piece: Frank are you okay? I said: Yes I’m good but this story just made me both sad and happy at the same time. Here’s what Jordanna wrote: Hi Frank - my name is Jordanna and this is my daughter Mackenzie (the little blonde). At 3.5 months Mackenzie was diagnosed with a rare form of pediatric cancer called retinoblastoma which is cancer in the eyes. She’s since been through 7 rounds of chemo and is currently almost 1 year cancer free, all of her treatment has been at UCSF and we could not be luckier for the care we have received. Today was a special day as we had surgery for Mackenzie and as we were waiting we meeting this beautiful girl Akira Akira is 2 years old and also battling retinoblastoma like Mackenzie. The girls met in pre -op and an instant bond and friendship developed. This was the most heart warming to watch and the girls were holding hands, playing together and hugging each other as if they were life long best friends. In this day it’s so beautiful to see two girls who have both had so much trauma and treatment find such magic in another little girl so quickly and we hope this is the beginning of a lifelong friendship. As Akiras grandmother mama said today - this is pure innocence. In this day it’s so beautiful to see two girls who have both had so much trauma and treatment find such magic in another little girl so quickly and we hope this is the beginning of a lifelong friendship I hope this story warms your heart as much as it warmed ours. Sincerely yours - Jordanna Howard I don’t know why kids get sick. It’s so damn unfair. My older daughter has something called POTS. I hate pots. I’d give anything to switch places with her. I’ve lived my life. She’s just starting hers It’s so damn unfair I just pray that Mackenzie and Akira will be okay. They look beautiful together.
