There is a Food Distribution event taking place this Monday at 9am at Jordan High School. We will be giving out 1,500 boxes to our communities and I need your h...elp to spread the word! It's a really cool concept of hyper-local gift economies. Everything is requested and given, all free from your heart with gratitude. Want or need something? Ask for it. The City of Long Beach has allocated $170,000 to fund youth services and leadership development and is now seeking proposals from non-profit organizations! Prog...raming must focus on young people ages 10 to 24 that have been disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Grants will be awarded up to $25,000. Eligible organizations are encouraged to apply through the City of Long Beach’s Vendor Portal, by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8. From birthday celebrations to neighborhood concerts, the small open space proved to be a place of community for residents of North Long Beach, but getting it to... that point took hard work and dedication, with Pressburg leading most of those efforts along the way. It includes a Wendy’s, a Starbucks and a Chase Bank. Spearheaded by councilman Rex Richardson, the complex features a food court that boast several great culinary choices to enjoy while in an artistic environment.

Priority will be given to families in neighborhoods with disproportionately higher positivity rates of COVID-19, foster children, families with individuals experiencing disabilities or special health care needs and essential workers.

From the Hi-lo: The 2ND & PCH outdoor Movies & Moonlight series is back this fall with 'Coco,' 'Hotel Transylvania' and 'Nightmare Before Christmas' to watch (for free) starting Friday, Oct. 30.
