Excited to share the launching of a Buy Nothing Long Beach (North), CA group. Yay! NLB was the last area in the city of Long Beach without an official Buy Nothing group. It's a really cool concept of hyper-local gift economies. Everything is requested and given, all free from your heart with gratitude. Want or need something? Ask for it. Have something you no longer need or see a request you can fulfill? Please pass it on. It's that simple. And it'll be a great way to meet more folks in North Long Beach. Please join if you're in the blue area on this map. Please share this with anyone (and in groups) you think might be interested. Building a local gift economy is what Buy Nothing Project is all about. Building community is what I'm all about. Click to join, https://www.facebook.com/groups/298289624932236 #GoUptown

The City of Long Beach has allocated $170,000 to fund youth services and leadership development and is now seeking proposals from non-profit organizations! Prog...raming must focus on young people ages 10 to 24 that have been disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Grants will be awarded up to $25,000. Eligible organizations are encouraged to apply through the City of Long Beach’s Vendor Portal, by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8. From birthday celebrations to neighborhood concerts, the small open space proved to be a place of community for residents of North Long Beach, but getting it to... that point took hard work and dedication, with Pressburg leading most of those efforts along the way. Thank you Dan, for allowing me to tell just a small piece of your community activism. See more

#heylongbeach! Join food writer Kurt A. Eichsteadt as he visits #NorthLongBeach’s Uptown Commons. Uptown Commons is part of a new development in North #LongBea...ch, also known as Uptown Long Beach. It includes a Wendy’s, a Starbucks and a Chase Bank.
