Hi friends, I am writing with a personal request. I am deeply worried about the ability of our small businesses and nonprofits to weather the Covid-19 crisis. T...hese businesses and nonprofits are the backbone of our community. We collectively employ much of our community and we provide the goods and services that make our community what it is. We take care of the river, take care of our kids, take care of our seniors, feed people, provide places to gather, provide places to buy toys, clothes and all of the other things that make life sweet. Our small businesses are committed to supporting our nonprofits and vice-a-versa. In short, we are an interconnected and interdependent network and we will all be effected by any of us struggling to survive. Perhaps the single thing I love most about living here (besides the river <3) is that our community is so deeply empathetic and supportive. We know how to take care of each other. So, to that end I want to ask you to join me in supporting our small businesses and nonprofits by donating a portion of your Federal Stimulus funds (only if you are able, of course!) to the just launched Nevada County Relief Fund. This tax-deductible donation will go directly to small businesses and nonprofits. Alternately consider setting aside a portion of your stimulus funds to spend at local businesses or donate directly to a nonprofit.
