Thank you, San Francisco, for the opportunity to continue to represent you in Sacramento! From keeping our families safe and healthy during COVID-19, to addressing economic instability and inequality, to tackling our affordable housing and homelessness crisis, to protecting our planet, to fighting for racial justice, we have so much important work ahead of us. It's been the honor of my life to fight alongside and for you, and I’m looking forward to getting back to Sacramen...to. While our Assembly race has been called, we are still waiting on results in many critical races at the federal level and in California. It’s important that we all remain calm, patient, and optimistic as votes are tallied across our city, state and country. As California results continue to trickle in, I am proud to see San Franciscans come down on the right side of history and decisively support measures that stand for fairness, justice, and opportunity. I’m profoundly thankful to be able to champion San Francisco values in our state capitol.

A reminder that we may not know the outcome of the election tonight. It may take days or even weeks, and that's okay. The important thing is that every vote is counted.

This Stanford study estimates there have been 30,000 coronavirus infections and 700 deaths as a result of Trump's rallies. Trump is dangerous and irresponsible. We have one day to elect a responsible, rational president. Let's do everything we can to get out the vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris!

In this article, Ward Connerly, the chief architect of Prop 209 and the leading voice against Prop 16, says white nationalists are "super patriots," questions the identity of Latinos with lighter skin, and says Donald Trump's "instincts are generally good." This isn't the first time affirmative action opponents have been tied to white nationalists. Former KKK leader David Duke actually endorsed and campaigned for Proposition 209 in 1996. Connerly's recent comments are especially dangerous now as white supremacist movements are again on the rise. We have an opportunity to reject this dangerous and racist movement by voting Yes on Prop 16!

If not for a minority fellowship that allowed me to attend Harvard's Kennedy School and gave me #MyShot to pursue a public policy career, I would not be an elected official today. Every California kid deserves a shot, so please vote #YesOnProp16.

San Francisco and the world just lost an incredible spirit. Cecilia Chiang introduced the joy, taste, and diversity of authentic Chinese food to America. She epitomized hospitality, grace, and warmth, and those of us who knew her will miss her immensely.

The NY Times Editorial Board gets it right--vote Yes on Prop 16! "This summer, millions of Americans took to the streets to protest racial injustice. Now, millions more in California can cast their ballots for a simple measure advancing that cause..."

There is a strong case to be made that automated speed enforcement could lead to less racially-motivated stops. This technology not only saves pedestrian lives but can also help us create a more fair and just system to deal with speeding.

As the President continues to spew hate, we've seen a recent uptick in hate crimes against many communities of diversity, including our API communities. I really appreciate working with Mayor London Breed and community advocates to make this happen and give hate crimes the attention they deserve.
