The Impact of the Au Pair Program Over the course of the past several months, the independent research firm Eureka Facts conducted a multi-perspective assessment of the federal au pair program. Over 17,000 current and alumni host family and alumni au pairs across all sponsors participated. We are so excited to share this fact sheet with some key findings from the full report. https://www.alliance-exchange.org/.../EF_AuPairReport... The entire report reflects the overwhelming ...success of the federal au pair program and a couple of additional findings beyond the fact sheet from the full report are profound. 92% of families said that they are better able to interact with people from other countries and nearly all host families surveyed, 98%, reported that they share cultural activities with their au pairs and that au pairs reciprocate that exchange. These findings reflect the success of the program in meeting its goal to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries by means of educational and cultural exchange. 60% of host families view cost savings in comparison to alternative childcare services as a very important factor in initially deciding to participate in the au pair program. 85% of host families are extremely satisfied (57%) or somewhat satisfied (28%) with their experience as a host family. 86%of host families are very likely (65%) or somewhat likely (21%) to recommend becoming a host family to friends or family in the future. 71% of host families say their families would be adversely affected if the au pair program were no longer available. www.culturalcare.com/jdavison See more
