I wanted to let my political science colleagues know that this year's call for applications for the 2021 American Political Science Association Institute for Ci...vically Engaged Research (ICER) is now live. ICER seeks to broaden and deepen the ways political scientists learn about, and contribute to, political life by offering training on civically engaged researchan approach that at its core is grounded in a notion of the mutually beneficial co-production of knowledge with those outside the academy and is centrally concerned with power, politics, and governance. ICER is aimed at graduate students and other political science scholars at any stage of their career interested in shifting to civically engaged research. Applications are due by April 1st. ICER will be virtual this year, and so we are going to use that format to its fullest with some creative interactive approaches to collaboration and inviting some great special guest participants. https://politicalsciencenow.com/apply-for-the-2021-summer-/

Today there is something that EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US can do to uphold our values around democracy, our commitment to inclusion, respect for diversity, and vision for a better tomorrow. Today October 15, 2020 is the last day to make sure that EVERYONE gets counted on the U.S. Census. If you have been wondering what we can collectively do to make sure that our communities get the representation, resources, programs, support, policies and respect that they deserve an accur...ate and complete census count is at the foundation for us to ensure this. We will not have another chance for another 10 years. Our communities are counting on us. Let’s all do our part today on the last day. The census is available in multiple languages and it only takes a few minutes to complete a few minutes to ensure that we don’t just talk about equity but that we actively take action to achieve it. Reach out to as many people as you can and direct them to www.my2020census.gov or 1-844-330-2020 today. With the utmost urgency and respect. Juan
