Online education, including online teaching and learning, has been studied for decades. What we know from research is that effective online learning results from careful instructional design and planning, using a systematic model for design and development. The design process and the careful consideration of different design decisions have an impact on the quality of the instruction. And it is this careful design process that will be absent in most cases in these emergency shifts.
We stand in solidarity because Black Lives Matter. We encourage everyone to continue to learn, listen, educate, engage, speak up, and take action in the fight against racial inequity and social injustice.

With approval from the CSU Chancellor's Office (just last week!) we are proud to announce that the MS Ed, Concentration in Online Teaching and Learning has been elevated to a stand-alone master of science degree program - the MS in eLearning - with a newly redesigned curriculum.
