Today, we said goodbye (for now) to a pilar of the CHP Woodland family. Officer Chris Harris will be transferring to the CHP’s Governor’s Protective Detail. Following a lunch in his honor, Captain Ivan Tien (pictured right) presented Officer Harris with a Commander’s Accommodation for his hard work as dedication to Yolo County and beyond. Chris, although we are truly happy for you, selfishly we hate to see you go. You have been and will always be a valued member of our CHP Woodland family. GPD is fortune to have you. Good luck and be safe my friend!
Just after 9:40PM, our Officers responded to a collision where an impaired driver collided into a house in Esparto. This families home is destroyed, but luckily even though the family was home, no one was injured. Homes can be repaired, but sometimes people cannot. This driver was arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana. Its sad that although crashing into a house is rare, driving under the influence of marijuana is not. ... #craziness #dontdodrugs #stayinschoolkids #earlytrickortreater
If you choose to drink, please do not drive. #CaliDDP
In 2019, California Highway Patrol Woodland Area Officer David Jamie arrested 26 drivers suspected of driving impaired. For his efforts, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) presented Officer Jamie with an award, recognizing his hard work in keeping California roadways safe. #madd #chp #whosthebest Pictured from left to right: Captain Ivan Tien, Officer David Jaime and MADD Representative Wes Morgan.
This driver remained calm when his 2019 Ford F-250 pulling a small trailer burst into flames as he was driving westbound I-80, east of Olive Drive. The driver was able to safely pull over to the right shoulder, exit the vehicle and call 911. Would you have been able to do the same? Freak occurrence? Yes, but please remember to have inspections done on your vehicle to help minimize instances like this one. Vehicles can be replaced, people cannot. Drive Safe...... #carfire #dudeyourcarisonfire #friendsdontletfriendsbuyford

Can you believe this driver was able to walk away from this collision? Well, he literally did when he fled the scene... Last night just after 2am, our Officer's responded to a solo vehicle collision on CR-99W at CR-17. Upon our arrival we could not locate the driver. With the help of the Yolo Fire Dept, we were able to locate the driver that fled the scene. The driver was ultimately arrested for DUI. #dontdrinkanddrive #drivesober #aboutlastnight #yolofire
SPARK SHOW Shortly before midnight, one of our Senior nightshift Officers that was paired up with a Sergeant responded to a call of a vehicle driving on its rim on SR-16, west of I-505. They located the vehicle southbound on I-505, south of County Road 27. The driver had driven on a flat tire for so long the rim was almost completely gone. Luckily there were no reported grass fires as a result. The driver was arrested for DUI and his vehicle was towed from the scene. #dontdodrugs #drugsarebadmmmkay

This driver collided into the rear of another vehicle westbound on the Yolo Causeway early this morning causing him to lose control and overturn. Thankfully AMR and the Davis Fire Department responded quickly and assisted with multiple people that were injured in this two vehicle collision.
This driver was stopped by Officer Soria last night for blowing by him at almost twice the speed limit at 119mph! Slow down or you will lose your license and face fines upwards of $1000
