I came across a Latin phrase today that, when translated, I vibed with HARD. Cool so, like, what does it mean? Well, let me tell you. We are influenced by destiny but are not bound by fate. Sounds a little woo woo, right? In simple terms, it means life will gently lead us where we're 'meant' to go, but at any point, we can say HOLD UP, this client/relationship/city/job/whatever doesn't serve me anymore, and we can change things the fuck up. ... It's basically our underrated and underused superpower. Cool, right? @ Echo Park
I’m finally getting around to showcasing the brand identity I’ve been working on for @mayfield.oc over the past nine months. Can’t wait to share more of the carefree and colorful designs we’ve worked on!

Oh how I luuurve a good (not so) old fashioned business card
Three years in LA. Three years of wearing all the hats. And here’s a three year old photo when life was a ‘little’ less weird.
Over the past 12 months, I've been deep in the skincare world, sourcing packaging, getting samples, modifying stock vessels, printing, testing, you name it. If you could only see the number of shoeboxes filled with samples, you'd be shocked! Because my head is so immersed in this space, I wanted to repurpose an unused icon from another project into an entirely new brand concept. Meet Aphrodia a conscious skincare brand that pulls inspiration from greek mythology and vintage fashion icons to create a timeless, luxurious, and feminine aesthetic. Let me know what you think!
Taking a break to do a quick creative exercise to reimagining how this unused icon could be repurposed. Sometimes it’s nice to flex your creative muscles on concepts that don’t rely on a particular outcome.
Real talk; this brandmark came to me quickly. In fact, it was one of the first scribbles I made in my notebook. This mark came to me 'too' easily, and so I doubted it. I didn't trust that something that flowed from my brain and onto paper so effortlessly could be the perfect solution. As most of us do, I kept pushing trying options that were more intricate and complex thinking that the more time I spent, the better the result would be. Sometimes this is true, but not alwa...ys. To date, this is still my favorite brandmark and quite possibly some of my best work. It conveys multiple ideas by merely using two shapes, repeated. At first glance, it's apparent this mark is a B. But do you notice the second B, or that the curved shapes represent waves/the ocean and the rectangular shapes represent the shoreline? Probably not, right? But that's fine with me because the best ideas should contain an ounce of mystery a few nuggets of gold that are gifted to the perceptive few.
As a followup to my previous post, I've compiled a list of nine 'better than your average' (and totally free) sans-serif fonts to inspire your next branding project. Head over to my blog to get the download link. If you're quiet right now or have lost clients due to the current situation, it's time to get creative and start working on personal projects that target the kind of clients you WANT to work with. ... If you'd like me to create a fictional client brief to get you inspired, please let me know! Wash your hands. Stay indoors. Get creative. @ Echo Park
