100 Thousand Poets for Change

Cultural & Creative Arts Center of Santa Maria Valley 19.10.2020

The Dreams Journal project is looking for folks who, in this current state of the pandemic and crisis, are wanting or needing an opportunity to collectively reflect and dream through a community journaling project. This project will center the perspectives of communities that are historically unheard, underrepresented, or under-resourced. Sign up to receive a journal to keep for 2 weeks to share your thoughts in sketches, painting, words, collages, etc. After the 2 weeks, yo...u send the journal back so it can go to the next dreamer. All postage is paid. Entries from the journals will eventually be viewable on the Central Coast Covid-19 Snapshots project site (centralcoastsnapshots.online). Journals will be archived at Cal Poly Kennedy Library's Special Collections. More information and the sign up can be found here: tinyurl.com/dreamsjournal. This project is supported by the Central Coast Public Humanities Collaborative, Cal Poly’s Kennedy Library’s Creative Works and Special Collections and Archives, Cal Poly Ethnic Studies Department, Cal Poly Student Diversity and Belonging, with funding from the Center for Expressive Technologies and the Student-Community Liaison Committee of Cal Poly, the City of SLO, and SLO County.

attended last night's Women Making Waves in Leadership online conference to listen and learn from distinguished local women leaders, like Cultural Creations edu...cator and artist Sandra Sarrouf and Candidate for California State Assembly Dawn Addis . I never expected Dawn Addis to recognize me, say she is excited about my webinar on cultural humility next week, and plug my webinar after telling me she has already spread the word about it in SLO!! Thank you, Dawn! I am still reeling from the recognition and am so appreciative of your support! Please join Dawn and the 1034 (and counting!) registrants next Wed., Oct. 28, 11 am-noon Pacific, for my free webinar on Cultural Humility for Leaders. It's not too late to register!
