WOW! THANK YOU! Today, we're celebrating Thank You Wednesday. We're so grateful for you and the outpouring of support we received yesterday on #GivingTuesdayNow. It's remarkable to see what our community achieved together. We met and EXCEEDED our $50,000 goal to provide more food and care for our neighbors in greatest need as we get through this COVID-19 crisis together.... From everyone at CityTeam, and behalf of all the men, women, and children who will receive help, thank you for an impactful day of giving! Together, we are igniting hope and restoring lives. #wearecityteam #GivingTuesdayNow #thankyouwednesday

One week until #GivingTuesdayNow -- an opportunity for communities to rally together in response to the needs created by the COVID-19 crisis. Each and every one of us can use our individual power of generosity to remain connected and bring help and hope. You are part of our team. Will you join us for #GivingTuesdayNow to help us give back to our community and show our strength as a team? To give, follow cityteam.org/givingtuesdaynow

Praise God for the great outdoors! Our CityTeam Renew residents have been quarantined at our program sites together. They consider themselves family--brothers who stick by one another. So, just like every other family, quarantine isn't always easy. Thankfully, we have been able to use CityTeam Camp MayMac and offer space and time in nature for our recovering residents! Our camp has become a valuable resource for our CityTeam residential programs to experience God's creati...on. Last week the men from CityTeam Oakland were able to visit. They breathed fresh air, got a lot of exercise, and bonded as brothers in God's family. Our other CityTeam residential programs got their turns as well! Let's remember our CityTeam Renew residents in prayer. They are facing addiction recovery during an extremely hard time, and we are so proud of their endurance. #wearecityteam #campmaymac

Thank you so much World Centric for your generous in-kind donation of foodservice containers and utensils. This donation is supplying front lines food distribut...ion at our partner organizations Alameda Food Bank, Youth Employment Partnership, CityTeam Oakland, The East Oakland Collective and more, who are all doubling down on their hot meals production for food insecure members of our East Bay community. When essential foodservice supplies are donated, it frees up funds and time for these orgs to direct towards their crucial direct service. It truly takes a village, and we thank #WorldCentric for stepping up in this way! #Donations #FilledOurVan #FilledOurOffice #WeAreInThisTogether

We had the opportunity to bless our neighbors at Lincoln's Family Resource Center with food boxes and Easter baskets in time for Easter Sunday. Their team shared these pictures and our hearts are full! We wanted to share them with you, too. We hope the many smiles will also bring you joy. Even in the midst of pandemic, joy is found. #easterhope #joy #wearecityteam

In January, Curtis was one of nine men who completed our CityTeam Renew program. After a challenging childhood where he endured years of instability in the foster-care system, Curtis struggled with addiction and experienced frequent incarceration. By the grace of God and through the CityTeam Renew program, Curtis has overcome his addiction and is now employed and beginning a CityTeam internship position where he can give back to the new men in the program. Also, Curtis is currently working through courses to become a certified drug and alcohol counselor. Join us in celebrating Curtis!

Recently, 7 men from our CityTeam Renew Program made the decision to follow Jesus in obedience through baptism. We extend our humble thanks to Christian Layman Church in Oakland for hosting a wonderful ceremony. Please join us in celebrating the washing and renewal of these faithful men!

Last year, we were granted the opportunity to launch a new program for women in Oakland, named CityTeam Turning Point. This past weekend, Tina became the first graduate of this exciting new program serving women in crisis. All were moved by her tearful story of how God has brought her out of darkness through our program. Join us in congratulating Tina!

Last week the Oakland Athletics organization joined us at CityTeam Oakland for their annual Week of Giving, including First Baseman Matt Olsen and Right Fielder Stephen Piscotty. Throughout the morning the A's painted walls, prepared lunches for the community, assembled new furniture for our emergency shelter, and decorated the entire building for the holidays. We are grateful for our continued partnership with the A's and look forward to a strong season in 2020! #bethechange #oakland #cityteam
