The CHP is launching a new education and enforcement campaign to reduce the number of crashes caused by impaired drivers in California. In 2018, there were 566... deaths and 11,298 injuries associated with DUI crashes within the CHP’s jurisdiction. Each one of these injuries and deaths represents a preventable tragedy and a continued need to focus efforts on reducing impaired driving. The Safer Highways Statewide grant provides the CHP with funding to conduct additional DUI saturation patrols, DUI checkpoints, and traffic safety education efforts throughout the state. The CHP will also participate in the NHTSA Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign. For more info about the new grant please visit: http://chp.click/shs
The California Highway Patrol is dedicated to supplying the highest level of Safety, Service, and Security to all who live, work, and travel in this great state.... With this focus, the CHP is partnering with local, state, and public health agencies to help slow the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The CHP plays a supportive role on the statewide task force, serving as a resource for state regulatory agencies that are focusing on businesses and workplaces not complying with the state’s safety guidelines. The best way people can protect themselves and others from COVID-19 is by wearing a face covering and practicing physical distancing when in public. The goal is to educate people about how to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and encourage them to self-regulate their behavior and adhere to the California Department of Public Health guidance. Today, after over 38 years with the California Highway Patrol, Commissioner Warren Stanley has announced his retirement effective November 17, 2020. He has expr...essed his gratitude to Governor Newsom, and his staff, for the years of partnership and support. He would also like to thank the public for the opportunity to serve you all. Finally, he would like to congratulate Deputy Commissioner Amanda Ray on her appointment to Commissioner on November 17, 2020. Deputy Commissioner Ray has been a pioneer for women in law enforcement as the first female in the CHP’s 91-year history to hold the position of Commissioner for the nation’s largest state police agency. Throughout her career, she has actively engaged with the communities she serves, seeking every opportunity to participate in outreach events, and active involvement in departmental programs to provide the highest level of Safety, Service, and Security to the people of California.
IT'S HAPPENING! In an effort to continue to provide a safe and fun Halloween event for our community, your San Gorgonio Pass CHP will be joining the Beaumont Pa...rks and Recreation, Beaumont Police Department - Beaumont, CA, and a host of other businesses and agencies for a COVID friendly Trunk Or Treat! A wide variety of vendors will be present with decorated trunks to hand out treats safely to your little ones. This will be a drive-thru event and participants will remain in their cars as they travel a one-way route through Noble Creek Park in Beaumont. We know that Halloween is a tradition that many children look forward to every year. So rather than cancel all together, we have partnered with businesses and public safety agencies throughout our community to ensure a safe and fun event can still be had by all. We hope to see you there!

Most violations found by the inspectors can be corrected before getting to the scales. A thoroughly conducted Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) will help in preventing violations. Drivers are encouraged to develop a procedure to perform their daily inspections. Catch it before we do!
