Tomorrow is the first day of the Hebrew month of Adar, the month in which we celebrate Purim. Adar is known as the month of joy. It is a time when we work on increasing our joy by focusing on the positivity around us. Now, almost a full year since the world has seemingly been turned on its head, it is even more beneficial for us to search for the good we experience and focus all our efforts on elevating our mood. With G-D’s help, may all our joy bring the ultimate joy upon th...e whole earth, the coming of Moshiach. Candle lighting in PB: 5:14 pm Friday night services at 6 pm Shabbat morning services at 10 am Join us on Shabbat Morning after Services for an outdoor Kiddush sponsored by Gershon & Rochel Leah Eichorn (Rabbi Yossi's Uncle and Aunt) in honor of the Yartzeit of Gershon's Mother, Yachet Eichorn, of blessed memory. Yesterday was the anniversary of the passing of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson, the wife of the Lubavitcher Rebbe. The Rebbetzin was known to be very compassionate and understanding, making every person feel respected and appreciated, no matter who they were or where they came from. The Rebbetzin truly treated all as though they were from one. This week, let us make an extra effort to view those around us for the similarities we all have and the same source we all come fro...m. Candle lighting in PB is at 5:08 pm. Shabbat Services tonight are at 6 pm and Shabbat Morning at 10 am. Join us this Shabbat where we will read the Ten Commandments during the Torah reading. Chanukah reminds us not to be afraid when the world turns dark. It is our job to illuminate it. -MyJLI The beauty of light is that a drop dispels a lot of darkness. Although our actions may seem too small to make a difference, like the lights of the Menorah, the little good that we do adds a lot of brightness to the world. May the lights of our Menorah illuminate our lives and our surroundings, and may the collective light of all our Menorahs this Chanukah bring an end to a...ll darkness, forever. Please light Shabbat candles, after lighting the Chanukah candles, at 4:25 p.m. Friday night services are at 6:00 p.m. Unfortunately due to the new covid restrictions, there will be no Friday night dinner or Shabbat lunch. Shabbat morning services are at 10am. Please try your best to join us and help with the minyan. Shabbat Shalom and Happy Chanukah!!

Chabad of Pacific Beach 12.10.2020

Although Chanukah ends as Shabbat begins this week, this Shabbat certainly contains within it the message of the menorah. The Torah portion we read this week recounts Joseph’s time in Egypt, where he went from rags to riches overnight, by interpreting Pharaoh’s dreams and advising him on a path forward for his country. From his position as viceroy, Joseph was able to support the entire nation of Egypt, and eventually his own family as well. The last day of Chanukah is called ...Zot ChanukahThis is Chanukah. It is the day that we point to the fully lit menorah and say this is the message of Chanukah. Like Joseph, we too are presented with opportunities to make a difference in the world. Small or large, we can all make a difference and bring light and warmth to those around us. You and I must be the light! Please light Shabbat candles at 4:28 pm. Friday night services are at 6:00 p.m. Unfortunately due to the new covid restrictions, there will be no Friday night dinner or Shabbat lunch. Shabbat morning services are at 10am. Please try your best to join us and help with the minyan. Shabbat Shalom!

Exciting night tonight at Chabad PB, as we printed a special edition Tanya for the very first time in Pacific Beach! The Lubavitcher Rebbe said that the very act of printing the Tanya (a foundational Chassidic text) in so many locations would further the goal of having the wellsprings of Chassidus flow from every part of the earth, which will please Gd usher in the Final Redemption.

Many have expressed the sentiment that a year could not get worse than 5780. Now that we have entered a new Jewish year, and we find ourselves celebrating the first Shabbat of the new year, and the last one before Yom Kippur, let us focus on rising upward. If our last year wasn’t great, this one can only be better. Let’s aim for higher, reach for better and put our efforts into making this year our best one yet. And in return, let’s pray G-d does his part and makes it better ...than we could have imagined. Candle lighting time in PB is at 6:23 pm Friday Night Services are at 6:30 pm Shabbat morning Services at 10 am We would like to personally invite you, your family, and friends to socially distanced & masked Yom Kippur services at Chabad PB, this Sunday night and Monday.
