Excited for #Halloween? Complete your Halloween costume with a cloth mask! #WearAMask when you are out or around people you don’t live with. Other things to know about masks: A costume mask is NOT a substitute for a cloth mask, unless it has 2 or more layers of breathable fabric (such as cotton) that covers your mouth and nose completely. Don’t wear a costume mask on top of your cloth mask, since that can make it hard to breathe. https://bit.ly/covid19-holidays... #CDC #Science #Coronavirus
Donate at https://bit.ly/2FdqvAG The Center for Community Advocacy (CCA) is an organization that was born to support and build leadership within our community and in particular our farmworkers and their families. As such, we have worked side by side with them to help improve their living conditions, advocating to have more affordable housing and access to health services and resources. The need for these efforts to continue is great but has become even greater during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please support CCA and thank all our brave and determined ESSENTIAL FARMWORKER community for putting their health and life on the line to help feed us all.
WHAT CAN I LEARN FROM CCA? Basic housing rights and responsibilities How to investigate and document housing-related problems and get repairs How to contact local health and safety officials... Donate at https://bit.ly/2FdqvAG During the pandemic, many of us can shelter in place; however, this is not the case with our vast farm-working community. Farmworkers are not hunkered down at home, they are working long hours in the fields, orchards and packing plants. They have put their safety and health on the line to help feed our community. The need for resourcing and information sharing is high within a population that has been affected disproportionately by the pandemic in Monterey County. Center for Community Advocacy (CCA) works to provide health information about prevention and detection of symptoms. Please support CCA and thank all our brave and determined ESSENTIAL FARMWORKER community for putting their health and life on the line to help feed us all.
Donate at https://bit.ly/2FdqvAG Through partnerships and donations, Center for Community Advocacy (CCA) is responding to the COVID crisis in our farmworker community by delivering reusable and disposable masks to farmworkers in their place of employment for their protection. Today, our farmworkers face many challenges to be able to provide a decent living for their families, but COVID-19 has increased the stakes. CCA works tirelessly to help our community overcome these challenges. Please support CCA and thank all our brave and determined ESSENTIAL FARMWORKER community for putting their health and life on the line to help feed us all. D
CCA’s Strong Families Program strives to reduce violence and other forms of abusive behavior by teaching strategies that strengthen family relationships. CCA trains neighborhood leaders to help their peers incorporate certain strategies into their familial relationships. The leaders undergo a five week, five topic curriculum taught by trainers who, themselves, helped to develop the curriculum. The curriculum includes the following topics: Family Values, Family Communication, Stress Management, Parenting Styles/Positive Parenting and Understanding Our Youth, an instruction that helps parents understand the challenges that youth face ranging from peer pressure to gang awareness.
