Chapter 27 ~ To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Things appear to have settled down in Maycomb county, but Mr. Ewell's behavior might suggest otherwise. A childish prank among two sisters illustrates how members of the town continue to single out people who are different. Mrs. Merriweather begins to plan a school pageant, casting Scout in an unusual role. #harpercollins

Chapter 10 - To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. At 50, Scout and Jem seem to think that their father is old. They realize that Atticus is very different than other fathers in Maycomb. We also see the first mention of the mockingbird in this chapter. Later, Atticus demonstrates a skill that the children did not know he had. #harpercollins

In the second half of our two-part series highlighting anime and manga, we meet a fictional creature that first appeared in video games. This character’s popularity grew as he became the central character an anime series and comic books. This little yellow monster is instantly recognizable, especially among those who have ever tried to catch ‘em all. Pikachu is this week’s featured character!

Chapter 8 ~ To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. An unusual cold spell falls upon Maycomb county for the first time since 1885, resulting in snow. This startles and excites Jem and Scout as they set about building a snowman. This adventure is rather humorous and telling as the kids build it to resemble a neighbor. Drama later ensues as fire erupts on the street, resulting in a kind gesture by the mysterious Boo Radley. #harpercollins

Welcome to our two-part Art of Cartooning Halloween special! Our first character may be the Pumpkin King, but he’d much rather be Santa Claus! Today we’ll learn how to draw Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Chapter 6 ~ To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Following their father’s direction of steering clear of the Boo Radley house proves difficult for the kids to follow. On Dill’s last night in Maycomb, the trio set off on a walk through the neighborhood with the intention of peeking through the window of the Radley house, with rather disastrous results. #harpercollins
