Dental Crown Aftercare For at least 48 hours after a dental crown has been placed, patients should use caution when eating, brushing, and flossing. It’s completely normal to experience sensitivity and tenderness around the crown or gum area. To ensure the tooth heals properly, follow these tips: wait 30-60 minutes before eating, avoid chewy or sticky foods, brush gently, floss carefully, and take pain relievers when necessary. After a few days, you can return to normal (but not harmful!) habits and routines.
