At Camp Kee Tov, we know it to be true that all people are created b'tzelem Elohim, in the image of God. We stand with our Black community members, protesters throughout the country, and the entire Black Lives Matter Movement against institutionalized racism and the implicit bias that leads to violence and discrimination against Black and Brown people. To be silent is to be complicit. "It is not your responsibility to complete the work [of repairing the world], but you are no...t free to abandon it either." -Pirkei Avot. We encourage you to use this as an opportunity to talk to your children and family about racism. Here are resources that will support your conversations: https://tinyurl.com/y8qfwxlq https://tinyurl.com/yakpctww https://tinyurl.com/ycqjxdk6 https://tinyurl.com/ycnjuf4p

Camp Kee Tov 01.09.2020

We are saddened to have to share with you today our decision to postpone the start of Camp Kee Tov for Summer 2020 from June 22 to hopefully as early as July 6. The magic of Kee Tov flows from our collective passion for this community and to delay our much needed reunion is beyond disheartening. We invite you to join us, along with Rabbi Rebekah Stern and Congregation Beth El’s President Allen Nudel tomorrow afternoon (Monday, June 1) at 4:30 pm to answer your... questions, dive deeper into the work we’ve done in order to make this decision and, above all, to come together to support one another. https://www.campkeetov.org/our-covid19-frequentlyasked

After taking a 2-year hiatus from camp to pursue an MSPH and prepare for medical school, Adam (or AJ, as he is more affectionately known) is thrilled to return to camp. With over 15 years of Kee Tov summers under his belt, AJ is a seasoned veteran at pouring fuzzy milk, playing Gaga ball, making friendship bracelets, and harmonizing Hebrew songs with crossed arms while balancing children on his shoulders (a skill which he unfortunately does not list on his resumé). AJ is a strong believer in the immense value of attending Camp Kee Tov and would tell you that the enthusiasm that is imbued into its campers is a rewarding quality that pervades all endeavors and stages of life. AJ is so excited to be working in Chaverim, the before and after care program which allows campers of all ages to explore the camp activities which they most enjoy!

Sonja (or Sonj) began her CKT career as a wee Rishonimer. Messy days, Fuzzy milk, and overnights kept Sonja coming back summer after summer, as a camper and then on staff. She has worked in Giborim, Mapilim as both a rosh and later PD, Chalutzim, and of course Gesher! When she is not at the Tov Sonja is a preschool teacher in Berkeley, loves hiking with her pup Luna, and long romantic walks on the beach. She is STOKED to be returning to Camp this summer, to backpack, get funky, float down some rivers, and explore the bay in a big yellow bus with Gesh. L’Chaim!

Lore has it that mere days after her birth, Liat was found singing Devorah the prophet complete with hand motions and harmonies in her crib as she fell asleep. Ever since then, camp has always held such a special place in her heart. Liat started her staff career in Rishonim, took a brief stint in Gesher, but has finally found her true calling as Chalutzim Program Director. When Liat is not practicing kumsitz at camp, she spends her days daydreaming about bus song sessions while studying mechanical engineering at Duke University in North Carolina. She can’t wait for summer 2020, which is looking like the most ruach filled one yet!

Eli could not be more excited to return for his second summer as Program Director of Mapilim. This sequel to the already cult classic that was Map 2019 is sure to impress. However, instead of a bio, Eli has answered a few questions that were left unanswered last summer. 1. Is it true that Map’s all camp skits were such a transformative audience experience they were up for an Oscar nomination for best ensemble cast? Yes, and best use of special effects, but who’s counting?... 2. Does Eli have a ghost writer for those exceptional Friday letters? Not even an editor. 3. How did the legendary Mega-song sessions at Hawkridge with Giborim come about? Kee Tov is all about building a Kehillah Kedosha (sacred community) and when we found out Gib was going to be having their overnight right around the corner from ours, it was a no brainer to get them involved. Rumor has it, the rangers back in Tilden could hear it and still talk about it to this day! 4. Is this going to be the greatest summer ever in Mapilim? Without a doubt!

Last year when Abby (Habonim Program Director) and Eleni won the Kee Tov staff training talent show they were certain it would be the highlight of their Kee Tov career.........today they have been proven wrong. Eleni started her Kee Tov staff career in Giborim and could not be more excited to connect to her Gib roots this summer making s’mores at wildcat and accessing all of the lyrics to Gib cheers which have been stockpiling in her brain for the past 5 years. During the year Eleni has been working on the other side of the curtain as the Camp Kee Tov Administrator. Although spending every day with the one and only Beckett Sheeder has been an uplifting and transcending experience, Eleni is willing to give that all up and return back to the field that is G I B O R I M Giborim!
