CPBA Members, This was definitely a challenge for those 7 members who fished Lake Otay on Day 1 and San Vicente on Day 2. The constant swing in air temperatures and the lower water levels have made the fishing more difficult than what it should be for this time of year. Thank you to those who fished in these tough conditions. The results are as follows:... Day 1 Day 2 Total 1st Place - Dave 11.4 lbs 8.11 lbs 19.15 lbs 2nd Place - Allen 10.5 lbs 6.11 lbs 17.00 lbs 3rd Place - Anthony 6.9 lbs 6.14 lbs 13.07 lbs Day 1 Big Bass - Dave and Allen (tie) 3.00lbs Day 2 Big Bass - Paul 4.00lbs The final tourney of 2020 will be Nov 21 at El Capitan. I will send out a club email in Nov for a reminder. Let's have a great turnout for our last tourney of the season.......hope to see you ALL there!!!! Until then, stay safe and get on the water if you can!!! Allen M. Young (CWO3/USMC, Ret.) CPBA Club President
CPBA Members, I apologize for the late posting of the Lower Otay Tourney results. There were (3) separate tournaments there on Saturday along with regular weekend fishermen which would explain the long line of 60+ boats. The weather was excellent for fishing but the fish apparently didn't get the memo. The water temp was in low 80's and water level was down 2-3 feet from Allen’s previous trip there 2 weeks ago. The bite was very tough.......KUDOS to those who were able to g...et anything into their boat. There were 10 CPBA Members that competed in the tourney with a total of 14 fish caught....the results were as follows: 1st - Dave Jackson 4 fish 6.10lbs 2nd- Allen Young 3 fish 6.05lbs 3rd- Paul Washam 2 fish 4.11lbs Big Bass- Allen Young 2.14lbs Reminder if you ordered a shirt Allen has them.
CPBA Members, Thank you to those who competed at our Aug club tourney on Saturday. The humidity was more present than the fish bite. Of the 12 competitors, only 6 fish were caught. The results were as follows: 1st- Dave Jackson- 6.45 lbs 2 fish 2nd- Paul Washam - 4.81 lbs 1 fish... 3rd - Allen Young - 3.82 lbs 1 fish 4th - Robert Anatra- 3.01 lbs 1 fish 1st Big Bass Dave Jackson - 4.84 lbs 2nd Big Bass Paul Washam - 4.81 lbs Next tourney is 12 Sept at Lower Otay. Hoping for a good turn out, keep getting the word out so we can grow the club. If you have any pictures from the tournament please feel free to add them to the page or message Andrew J. McNett to add them.

1st place Dave with 5 fish at 15.57 lbs 2nd place Paul with 5 fish at 8.00 lbs 3rd place Allen with 5 fish at 8.00 lbs Big fish- Dave at 5.03 lbs... San V was a hot one with temperatures sitting around 100 making fishing somewhat difficult with all the pleasure boaters on the water. In total we had 8 members participate in the tournament with some great fish being caught. Next tournament is Lake Hodges on August 15th. If you know any friends who are Veterans or Active Duty who fish encourage them to come out and hit water. If we missed anyone’s photos from this tournament please send them in and we’ll add them to the album.
Join us in paying respects for an Amazing Father, Grandfather, Angler, and Marine.
