In respect to the Black Lives Matter movement, Caltech Astro Outreach is postponing its online public lecture originally scheduled for this Friday, June 5th 7:00PM PDT. We do not want to create a distraction from this powerful moment for our country, when attention is better focused on addressing racial inequalities and injustices in our society. We are tentatively postponing our lecture until next Friday, June 12th at 7:00PM PDT, but we will reevaluate this again next week. In the absence of our public lecture, we ourselves will spend the time considering the ways in which we can support the Black community and deconstruct the infrastructure created to hold them back in science academia and in society at large. We hope you will do the same. We can be better.
