It is with profound sorrow that we have learned of the recent passing of Lynn Hjelmervik. Having lived in Calaveras County for over 50 years, there's not a music or theater program in the county that doesn't owe its foundation to Lynn. She spent years volunteering, teaching, and building an exemplary music program at Toyon Middle School. Under Lynn's guidance and strength local music students traveled as far as Carnegie Hall to perform. Adventurous, full of life, a devotee of Disney, Lynn's greatest passion was her son, Mark, daughter, Heather, and her cherished grandchildren. We hold her family and friends close to our heart during this heartbreaking time.
