Although there is no guarantees of success, there is an option for consideration under certain conditions should you want to reverse the decision for an abortion after taking the abortion pill. There is a pill called the Abortion Pill Reversal (APR). What it does, essentially, is counteract the first pill (mifepristone) of RU-486. It can only be used if the first pill was taken. If the 2nd pill has been ingested, APR will not be effective. Initial studies of APR have shown th...at APR has a 64-68% success rate. Without the APR treatment, mifepristone may fail to abort the pregnancy on its own. In other words, your pregnancy may continue even without APR if you decide not to take misoprostol (the second abortion drug likely prescribed or provided to you when you took mifepristone). APR has been shown to increase the chances of allowing the pregnancy to continue. Since mifepristone blocks progesterone, APR gives a major dosage of progesterone. The idea is that a major dosage of progesterone will make up for the progesterone being blocked by the mifepristone. It needs to be taken up to 72 hours after taking mifepristone. The earlier it is taken, the better. We provide this treatment at no cost to you. So, yes, it is possible to change the course of your decision to abort, but there are no guarantees. More than we would like to admit, we make decisions based on fear and the unknowns and sometimes, we wish we could take that decision back. Abby and John, made the decision to take the first abortion pill. While sitting in the movie theater, they both looked at each other and realized that they made a horrible choice. Panicked, Abby called Bridges Pregnancy Clinic and Care Center and explained their situation. Without hesitation, Bridges invited Abby and John into the clinic ...and talked to them about APR (abortion pill reversal) While APR has a 64-68% success rate, there still is a possibility APR will not work. Luckily, Abby only had the first pill. If Abby were to take the 2nd pill, APR would have not been effective. After giving Abby APR, Bridges medical staff carefully monitored her up to 24 weeks. Abby’s story could have ended in tears of sadness, but instead they were met with tears of joy! Abby and John welcomed their healthy baby boy! Bridges Pregnancy Clinic and Care Center provides APR at no cost. So yes, it is possible to change your decision to abort, but there is no guarantees. So, take the time to think through your decision to abort, making sure it is one you can live with for the rest of your life. ***names have been changed to protect the privacy of our clients.

EMOTIONS of PREGNANCY Emotions are tricky. We have clients who talk about their emotions and they feel like they're ridding a rollercoaster. Here is a little insight from BrightCourse regarding EMOTIONS of PREGNANCY. "You might think that emotions are just reactions to your circumstances, but there are also physiological factors that affect your emotions. The chemistry behind these emotions can be summed up in one word - hormones. ... Pregnancy hormones have an even more profound effect on mood and emotions because of their higher levels and radical fluctuations. The chemicals in your brain that regulate mood, called neurotransmitters, are affected by the fluctuations in your hormone levels. These fluctuations mostly occur in the first trimester of pregnancy, between six to ten weeks, and then again in the third trimester as your body prepares for childbirth." Did you know... "Up to twenty-three percent of women experience depression during their pregnancies, but very few seek treatment. It can sometimes be difficult to distinguish depression from other symptoms of pregnancy. Sometimes women just chalk symptoms of depression up to their hormones and ultimately suffer needlessly. Depression is a disease that you cannot help, and it needs to be treated by your doctor. You should not be ashamed of it. If you think you might be experiencing depression, tell your doctor." Emotional Survival Tips - Get plenty of rest - Make time for fun - Eat healthy food - Get exercise - Ask for help -- especially professional help when needed. If you find yourself crying consistently, and/or feeling down or hopeless for more than two weeks without and pleasurable moments in between, talk to your doctor. Remember you're not alone. Hugs! We offer a peer counseling, options counseling, free prenatal care (up to 24 weeks), Free pregnancy tests, Free Limited Ultrasound and more.
