One of the vital functions of Big Bear Airport is to be a base of operations for Rotorcraft and Fixed Wing Aircraft during fires and medical transfers. Three Fire Boss Aircraft will be working from Big Bear Airport for an undetermined amount of time. The Airport welcomes these planes to help protect our communities. We want to thank everyone who is on the ground and in the air protecting Big Bear, Angeles Oaks, Mountain Home Village, Forest Falls, Seven Oaks and all the surrounding cities affected by the fire.
