Kabbalat Shabbat with Rabbi and Ricki Friday, October 30, 6:30 pm Join Rabbi Gottlieb and Ricki for a joyous, musical, and spiritual Kabbalat Shabbat via Facebook Live. Rabbi and Ricki will live-stream candle lighting and songs, prayers, mishaberach, and kaddish from their home straight to you. Join in right here. We will keep the service up, so if you can't make it right at 6:30pm, you can view it any time on Friday. ... You can now get a free "on-line" version of Mishkan Tefillah, our Friday evening Prayerbook, where you can find the words for many of the Shabbat songs and prayers that we will use each week. Go to https://www.ccarnet.org/.../mishkan-tfilah-weekdays.../ Immediately following the abbreviated Kabbalat Shabbat service, we will virtually go over to our "Social Hall" where Rabbi Gottlieb and Ricki will lead kiddush and motzi, and we'll have a chance to shmooze with each other. During the Kabbalat Shabbat service, we will post a link to our Virtual Oneg Shabbat in the chat. Or you can find the link in this week's Staying Connected with BIJ. Shabbat Shalom to one and all. Stay healthy and safe.

The virtual Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) Pacific District Convention is coming up soon... October 24-25, 2020 On Zoom! One Vision, Many Voices Let us dream (nachalom) and then begin (v’nat’chil) to build the future we desire.... Sherrie Rosenberg attended in person two years ago and it was wonderful. She learned a lot, had a good time, and met wonderful people. This year there is no registration fee, no transportation cost, no hotel expense, no restaurant costs; there isn’t even a charge for coffee. There ARE programs and expenses that WRJ and our District support that need your financial help. We are asking each registrant to make a donation in lieu of the usual registration fees. The registration deadline is October 19, 2020. A welcome surprise will be sent to the first 400 registrants! If you are interested, email Sherrie at [email protected] and she will send you the email where you can register. You do not have to be a member and you do not need to give a donation to attend for as much time as you choose.
