The Rainforest Flow team, with the matsigenka water committee, built this sink at the village school in Tayakome in 2009, using rocks from the river. Ten years... later it is still in excellent shape and continues to deliver clean water to the children for drinking and hygiene. I enjoyed a drink of water after a long day making house visits, and a moment of pride for people who have cared for the water system and the structure, so the children could live healthy lives, without chronic intestinal illnesses. It was hard work, but they changed the course of their lives, for the better. We have six more communities in dire need of services.
