We've got something great planned for our Summer August Meeting! Want to learn how to walk the walk and talk the talk for job developers then meet us August 28th from 1-3pm. We will be having our own Downtown Streets Team presenting about the wonderful work that they do within our community. Their team will be discussing successful ways to overcome different barriers to employment. We will also be doing an empowerment exercise to put into practice what we learn and ways to ...practice being successful as well as create environments for our clients to be placed into employment sites. Through their Award-Winning Work-First Model, they provide homeless and low-income men and women with the resources they need to rebuild their lives. First, they volunteer on one of our teams and begin working collaboratively on beautification projects. In return, they receive a stipend in gift cards to help cover their basic needs, while taking advantage of our case management and employment services to find housing and a job. Our ultimate goal is to find our Team Members employment because having a job restores hope and opens the door to countless opportunities. When: Friday, August 28th from 1:00-3:00 pm Where: 1671 The Alameda, Suite 306 San Jose, CA 95126 The "Command Central" Room Don't miss out on some great information, discussion and empowerment exercises to improve our job developing techniques going into this Fall!
