How I know I’m too clumsy for highballs.~Joanna Does anybody else feel that their weekends/life is summed up by this video? Baboon Athlete @joannapudding saying what we all say when we start a hard climb, This is weird. It’s okay, progress isn’t linear as we are led to believe.

Quarantine is still rough for most of us, especially if we are use to being active outside. Back in May 2020, our Athlete @mr_longarm_wong came up with an idea on how to be active for mountain biking while quarantine.

Today is #WorldWildlifeDay! We’ve received an update to a project that we joined back in 2018. This amphibian is the Mountain Yellow-Legged Frog. They’re an endangered species that are located in SoCal, including areas around Williamson Rock (off-limit climbing crag) and the PCT trail. ... The recent Bobcat Fire took most of the vegetation away and the recent rain most likely caused flooding. Because of this, the frog’s population took a hit and efforts were taken to save them by the US Geological Service, Angeles National Forest, LA Zoo and UCLA. This means that Williamson Rock/PCT section will remain closed until further notice. But hope is still there. Baboon Outdoors will continue to work with these agencies to reopen our outdoor adventure spot!

Even with one foot, Head Coach Mike is still crushing V6s! It’s the first day of March! As time moves on, we have to remember that the struggle against racial injustice doesn’t stop when February ends. Black lives still matter, racial violence against Asian community is disgusting, indigenous peoples of americas are still suffering, public lands (like Bears Ear) need to be restore and protected, we’re still battling our mental illnesses, COVID vaccines aren’t getting into the... communities that need it most, etc. There’s so much that needs to be done but we have to celebrate the small victories and enjoy life as well. Call a friend, enjoy your local parks, watch cute videos of animals, and be safe. Thank you and we appreciate you!

Winter is here and @vegantrailrunner is showing us what we can do about it! @vegantrailrunner is a #trailrunner, #cyclist, and a #coach. Vic views of food, health and holidays is really positive and true. Holiday food can be tricky to navigate when trying to be healthy but here’s some advice from Vic that makes it easier: 1) Nutritional health is about consistency and long term goals. Eating junk food once in awhile is fine, so don’t feel guilty nor ashamed for cheating. ... 2) For holiday parties, plan ahead on what to eat! 3) Don’t argue about food diets. Say your diet is personally good for you and nothing more. Unless the person wants a constructive conversation. ALSO, don’t judge other people’s diets! 4) Be mindful. Don’t over eat and eat when your hungry. We also tend to eat more during cold weather because our bodies burn more fuel to stay warm. Enjoy the holidays, don’t body shame, be healthy, have fun and stay safe. Cheers!

Congratulations @moonrocks_bouldering_co!! Moonrocks Bouldering is a secret gym out in Reno, NV that helps out their community and introduces climbing to those who normally wouldn’t have the chance to try it out. We are a proud sponsor of this gym and it’s exciting to see them featured on @climbingjournal! It’s in phase 5 right now, which is the largest addition yet! If you want to climb at their spot or support them, please DM @moonrocks_bouldering_co and see what you can do!
