Are you interested in getting more involved in our school district? There is an opening on our Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee! Details and link to the application can be found below. #gooooteam! Copied from website: San Bruno Park School District Measure X Facilities Bond... Consequent to San Bruno voters passing the Measure X facilities bond last November to begin modernization of San Bruno Park schools, the Board of Trustees has appointed a Citizen’s Oversight Committee (COC) to ensure the community that the expenditure of bond monies authorized by the voters is consistent with the purposes approved by the voters. The District announced the application process in December. The appointment of the following members of the San Bruno community to serve on the COC was announced January 16th at the District’s monthly Board of Trustees meeting. Those volunteering and selected to serve are: Wendy al-Mukdad, Jeff Fornesi, Raul Gomez, Andrew Lipscomb, George Peponis, Jim Ruane, Stephen Seymour and Wilma Lee. The COC is charged with reviewing independent audits, inspecting school facilities, reviewing copies of deferred maintenance plans developed by the District, and reviewing efforts by the District to maximize bond proceeds by implementing cost savings measures. The COC does not have direct decision or supervisory powers. Their meetings are public and governed by Brown Act requirements. Watch this space for meeting dates.
