PLEASE READ THIS The Federal Reserve lowering rates is NOT the same as mortgage rates. The Discount Rate is the cost of the interbank borrowing and has little effect on long term mortgage rates so unless you are currently in an adjustable rate mortgage this really has little impact. What COULD affect mortgage rates is them buying a ton in mortgage backed securities but we will not know how this will affect rates until the market opens on Monday morning. If you are cur...rently floating your refinance waiting on a 1% interest rate it’s not happening, trust your LO when they say it’s time to lock. If mortgage rates get down to 1% interest rates we have some huge issues... That being said, if you are thinking about refinancing it is a good time to look into it, there’s still a huge potential to save lots of money.
