An arbitration will go forward in late June in the case of Don Jones v. National Veterinary Associates, according to Ann A. Hull, at the Law Offices of Ann A. Hull, Inc. National Veterinary Associates claims to be the largest private owner of freestanding veterinary hospitals in the United States. Jones, an African American I.T. employee, claims to have been treated less favorably than employees who were not African-American and male. Jones claims his supervisors, Patrick Hong and Adam Zilberman, subjected him to racist statements, unfavorable work assignments, and isolated him from coworkers following his complaints. According to his lawsuit complaint, filed as case number BC640676 in the Los Angeles Superior Court, Jones complained in July of 2015 that he was starting to feel discriminated against. Jones claims he was later instructed not to complain to the company’s human resources department or to talk about his complaint. Jones was terminated in 2018.
