$5 Friday - A Tale of Two Kitties Help turn the worst of times into the best of times for two of our recent medical rescues. By some Dickensian twist of fate, both cats, originally adopted from AFRP, were left to survive on the streets. Thanks to their microchips and the kindness of strangers, the cats were rescued and returned to AFRP for lifesaving medical care. Arnez, a sweet black cat, had a painfully crushed tail, probably after a run-in with a car. It was infected and ...gangrenous, and needed immediate amputation surgery. Snowy, a sweet white cat, was found at a feral cat feeding station. Light-colored cats are prone to skin cancer from sun exposure, and Snowy needed to have her ears surgically removed to prevent the squamous cell carcinoma on the tips of her ears from spreading.
