Scleroderma Foundation, Southern California Chapter 28.06.2021

Join us this Saturday on zoom to hear from an Extraordinary Warrior, Andrew Botieri as he takes us on a journey with him from diagnosis in 1998 to where he is today! Combined Meeting for ALL Support Groups Saturday July 10th at 10:30 AM with Guest Speaker: Andrew Botieri - Sclero-Men Topic: Behind Every Dark Cloud is HOPE!... If you would like to attend, please register in advance for this meeting: https://zoom.us//regi/tJ0oc-yopjkrGtbvMd_jhIPRXporTBQyt1wg After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. About Andrew: When Andrew Botieri was first diagnosed with scleroderma, like many others, his thoughts ranged from anger and frustration to why me? and feared the unknown. With all the complications that arise from the many challenges people living with scleroderma face, some days are better than others. But where do you find the strength and spirit to persevere on your bad days? The answer-HOPE! Andrew is a survivor; recount his sudden life altering ordeal with scleroderma which almost took his life. Find out what the acronym of HOPE stands for and how we must first embrace our disease before we can manage it. This led to Andrew writing the book "A Celebration of Life- A Story of Hope, A Miracle and the Power of Attitude". Andrew takes you on his rollercoaster ride with his book and shares his life-threatening illness and eventual triumph over this rare autoimmune disease, scleroderma. He details the medical miracle journey from sudden kidney failure, coma and months of dialysis and uncertainty. Some doctors didn’t hold out hope for his survival. He also speaks to the need to persevere through adversity and the power of prayer and attitude in overcoming his challenges as well as in everyone’s life. Andrew's a scleroderma survivor recognized by the scleroderma communities near and far for his bravery, his message and his optimism. Andrews generous fundraising efforts has brought forward his dedication to raising funds for research while creating a fun outlook in the form of the Plymouth walk for a cure for scleroderma with his infectious optimism in the face of challenge.
